The UCC23313 is an optically compatible single-channel isolated gate driver suitable for IGBTs, MOSFETs, and SiC MOSFETs. It features a 4.5A peak source current, a 5.3A peak sink current, and a 3.75kVRMS basic isolation rating. Thanks to its high supply voltage range of 33V, it allows the use of bipolar power supplies to effectively drive IGBTs and SiC power FETs. The UCC23313 can drive both low-side and high-side power FETs. Compared with traditional optocoupler-based gate drivers, this device is fully pin-compatible while offering further performance upgrades. Performance highlights include high common-mode transient immunity (CMTI), low propagation delay, and small pulse width distortion. Strict process control enables small part-to-part variations. The input stage is an emulated diode, which means it has long-term reliability and excellent aging characteristics compared with traditional LEDs. It comes in an extended SO6 package with creepage and clearance >8.5mm and a comparative tracking index (CTI) >600V for the molding compound from material group I. The UCC23313 offers high performance and high reliability, making it ideal for all types of motor drives, photovoltaic inverters, industrial power supplies, and appliances. The higher operating temperature provides opportunities for applications that previous optocouplers could not support.
