Product Introduction
The TPSM8282x device family includes 1A, 2A, and 3A step-down converter MicroSiP™ power modules optimized for small solution size and high efficiency.
The power module integrates a synchronous step-down converter and inductor to simplify design, reduce external components, and save PCB area. The TPSM8282x is available in two variants. The first variant automatically enters power-save mode to maintain high efficiency under ultra-light load conditions, extending system battery runtime. The second variant, TPSM8282xA, supports forced PWM operation to maintain continuous conduction mode at all load currents, further minimizing output voltage ripple. In PWM mode, the converter operates at a nominal switching frequency of 4MHz.
In power-save mode, the device has a typical quiescent current of 4μA. Using DCS-Control topology, the device achieves excellent load transient performance and precise output voltage regulation. The EN and PG pins support sequencing configurations for flexible system design. Integrated soft-start reduces inrush current demand on the input power supply. Thermal shutdown and hiccup short-circuit protection make the solution robust and reliable.
