Product Introduction
TCA9617B is a BiCMOS dual bidirectional buffer designed for I²C bus and SMBus systems. This device provides bidirectional voltage level translation (up-translation and down-translation modes) between low voltage (as low as 0.8V) and higher voltage (2.2V to 5.5V) in mixed-supply applications. During level translation, the device extends I²C and similar bus systems without sacrificing system performance.
The TCA9617B buffers the Serial Data (SDA) and Serial Clock (SCL) signals on the I²C bus, enabling two 550pF buses to be connected to a single I²C application. This device can also be used to partition a bus into separate voltage and capacitance segments.
