The LM37100/1/2 is a 1A low dropout linear regulator designed for low-voltage, high-current output. This device family features an ultra-low dropout voltage (typical 470mV @ 1A) and low ground current (typical 12mA @ 1A). The LM37100/1 and LM37102 are fixed-output and adjustable-output regulators, respectively, available in SOT-223, SOP-8, and TO-252 packages. The device is ideally suited for PC add-in card applications requiring conversion from standard 5V to 3.3V, 3.3V to 2.5V, or 2.5V to 1.8V. With a guaranteed maximum dropout voltage of 630mV over the full operating conditions, the LM37100/1/2 can deliver a 2.5V output from supplies as low as 3.13V and a 1.8V output from supplies as low as 2.43V. The LM37100/1/2 incorporates comprehensive protection features including current limiting, thermal shutdown, and reverse battery protection. The LM37100/1 offers fixed output voltages of 5.0V, 3.3V, 2.5V, 1.8V, and 1.5V, while the LM37102 provides an adjustable output voltage down to 1.24V.
