CDM4644E is a standalone quad-channel, 4A-per-channel step-down DC/DC power module. The module can be configured for multi-rail output or parallel array output, delivering up to 16A. Integrated within the module are a switching controller, power FETs, inductors, high-accuracy upper divider resistors (0.5%), and supporting components — only a few external capacitors and resistors are needed to form a complete four-output step-down DC/DC regulator. The input voltage range is 4V to 14V; with an external bias voltage, operation is supported down to 2.7V input. Each regulator's output voltage can be precisely set within 0.6V to 5.5V via a single external resistor. The module supports external frequency synchronization, continuous or discontinuous conduction mode operation, and output voltage tracking/sequencing, with built-in temperature sensing, over-temperature, and output overcurrent protection. It integrates four independent constant-frequency on-time, valley current mode controllers with a typical switching frequency of 1.1MHz, externally synchronizable from 700kHz to 1.3MHz. Current mode control combined with internal loop compensation provides robust stability margin and transient response performance, supporting multi-channel parallel operation for precise current sharing — up to 8 phases (two modules) in parallel.
